If you haven't purchased from icorn.com before, you may have some questions. We'll give you straight answers. We've listed some common questions and answers below. If yours isn't included, or you want to speak to us directly, please contact us for a personal reply.
1. Do I have to set up an account at iCORN to purchase seed?
Yes. We need certain basic information to process your order, just like any other transaction. Your account also allows you to be recognized and greeted each time you visit iCORN. All account information is kept confidential, and all transactions are securely protected by using SSL encryption as well as the VeriSign security verification system.
2. When is the best time of year to place my order?
Although you can place an order any time, you'll receive the best value when you order by September 30th. After the 30th, the price per unit increases each month until planting. Also, availability of newer hybrids decreases as we get closer to planting.
3. How do I select the right hybrids for my fields?
Try imatchSM. It's the quickest, easiest way to find the best hybrid for your specific field conditions. Another option is to select hybrids by maturity or by trait in our hybrid catalog. This will generate a sorted list that includes brief descriptions. If you want to review our entire hybrid line-up, you'll want to start on the hybrid listing page.
After you've found a hybrid that may fit your field, go to CrossCheck PRO and compare it to your current favorite hybrid. CrossCheck PRO uses only independent 3rd party data.
Wherever you start, you can always click on a hybrid name to get all the details on a hybrid profile page. These profiles feature information on traits, disease profiles, specific field positioning and more, plus a link to exclusive evaluations by iCORN agronomist Barry Soliday. Barry gives his honest assessment of each hybrid, telling you where it performs best-and where you'd do better to use something else.
4. Where can I find more information about the hybrids recommended by imatch?
Look for a link. When imatch recommends a hybrid, it also offers a link to that hybrid's hybrid profile page, which gives info including traits, disease profiles and yield comparisons, plus a link to exclusive evaluations and recommendations by our agronomists.
5. Can I review the hybrids I select before I place my order?
Of course! When you use imatch, you will see a hybrid list (by farm or field I.D.) for review before you add anything to your shopping cart. Whenever you select a hybrid, a recommended quantity of bags, based on your requested seeding rate, will be displayed. This number can be altered or accepted as is. However you select your seed, you can alter any hybrid or quantity before you check out.
6. How easy is it to change or add another variety to my order?
Very. Any time before you check out, you can add a variety or change a quantity. If you check out and then want to add another variety, simply begin a new order.
7. How can I pay for my purchase?
You have several convenient options. The most common are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, E-Check and Farm Plan. Most banks now offer credit limits to allow for large ag purchases on-line, and some also offer attractive rebates or incentives. Payment by check is acceptable and will be listed as an option during the "Checkout" process. At the time of order, you will have two options:
- Partial payment offered for Sept.-Oct.=10%, Nov.=25% and Dec.=50% to lock in your price on all payment methods except Farm Plan Harvest Terms.
- Charge 100% of your order now
8. How secure is an online purchase at iCORN?
Highly secure. Your security is a priority at iCORN. That's why we use SSL encryption and the VeriSign Internet security verification system to ensure maximum protection of your information. We believe these are the most reliable options available for securely conducting business on the Internet.
9. When can I expect delivery?
On time! Orders typically are delivered from mid-February through the end of March. To keep your costs down, we accumulate orders and then deliver by region. We know you have a busy schedule, so we'll always give you adequate lead time on each delivery.
10. What if I need to switch maturities or change my order?
Contact us. Most often, you'll know about changes well ahead of shipment time, so we can make arrangements. Just send an email to Jim Wolf requesting a change, or call him toll-free at 800-240-0101. As long as your hybrid is still available, there's no problem changing an order.
11. I'm concerned about privacy. Will my personal information be sold to a mailing list?
Absolutely not. Your privacy is important to us. That's why we pledge to handle all information you submit carefully and sensibly. All account information will remain the property of iCORN and will only be used to improve our service to you.
12. I'm used to working with a seed rep. How can I get to know iCORN better?
Spend some time at our website. We understand that we need to earn your trust before we can earn your business. If you don't already know the iCORN partners, that may take a little time.
